•12 elective hours
*Please note that the number of hours for each core course can fluctuate between 2-4 hours. Depending on your renewal year, the number of mandatory hours listed above may not match. The important thing is for you to take a core course every year and 12 hours of electives within your 2-year cycle.
Post-License Education Requirement: The education requirement for initial renewal is 12 hours of prescribed post license courses and two different core courses.
•The 12 hours of post license courses must include the 8-hour Post License Fundamentals course and one of the following electives: Post License Pricing, Marketing, and Advertising; Post License Professionalism, Negotiations, and Closings; or Post License Introduction to Commercial Real Estate.
•This post license education requirement applies to any salesperson who has not yet renewed the license one time on active status.
•Special education requirements may apply to salesperson licensees renewing their license on active status for the first time, or those who need CE to activate their license for the first time. Salesperson licensees who fall into these categories should check with the Idaho Real Estate Commission for further information.
Duplicate Courses: In accordance with 54-2023, No licensee may obtain continuing education credit for completing: Any core course curriculum for which the licensee has previously received continuing education credit; or any course curriculum for which the licensee has received continuing education credit in the same license period. Licensees are strongly encouraged to review their education history with IREC before purchasing any courses.
Expiration Date of Course: Course expiration dates vary but are generally 6 months after enrollment date.
Final Exam: IREC permits only two attempts to pass the course final examination before re-enrollment is required. If the exam is failed on the second attempt, the licensee must retake the entire course, including the exam. The course final examination must be successfully passed to receive credit.
Certificate: With few exceptions, online course completion certificates are available for download at course conclusion and posted directly to your student dashboard.
